As President Barack Obama's stimulus money begins to trickle in, African Americans have a responsibility to discover where the money is going and how each of us can benefit from it.

There will be flows of millions of dollars earmarked for programs and jobs that could effect you and this is not a time for us to sit on our hands and not know anything about it until it's too late.

Contact you councilman or councilwoman, congresswoman, senator or whomever and demand answers to the tough questions that you may have.

Don't allow this money to get distributed without knowing where it's going and when it will get there.

Times are tough enough as it is, high unemployment, record foreclosures and a wounded economy, but this is a chance that could affect some or all of this for each of us.

It was great that you help punch a ticket to history, but now is the time for getting active in this process for the long haul.

Much of this money is targeted to cities where the population of Blacks is highest and there will be state jobs in construction available. Let's fight for our fare share like we fought for history.
