The Celeste Prescott Scholarship Fund (CPSF) was formed in 2005 when Celeste Prescott, a vibrant and loving mother of three teenage children met her sudden and untimely demise. Celeste's middle son, Sy Prescott was the first recipient of the scholarship in 2006 when he was accepted into the University of California at San Diego. The fund is dedicated to supporting post secondary education for youth of a deceased parent or parents. In addition to Sy, CPSF provided scholarships to a University of Southern California (USC) student and a California State University, Dominguez Hills student who both lost their fathers to street violence; Sy Prescott has also received additional funding.

This year a Trade Tech Culinary Arts student who lost his mother in her sleep and a Spelman College student who lost her mother to breast cancer will benefit from the fund. CPSF operates under the umbrella of Community Harvest Foundation (CHF), a non-profit 501c3 Corporation, founded in November 2001 to establish and support charter schools and create educational equity in underserved communities nationwide. Students are selected by referral or application.
