Daniel Julius Nash, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 2, 1915 passed away on July 28, 2009 following a brief illness. He came to Los Angeles, California in 1945 following a stint in the Army during WWII. He was married to the former Lillye Thomas for 52 years until her death in 2004.
Daniel was employed by the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum for 33 years, retiring in 1975 as the Supervising Guard.
He was a devoted and faithful member of Phillips Temple CME Church for over 50 years, serving on the Steward Board and as Church Treasurer.
Daniel is survived by a daughter, Candace Nash Everett (Reggie) of San Diego; three step-daughters, Bennye Jones and Annie Crosby of Los Angeles, Benita Thomas of San Jose; and a step-son, William Newman of Los Angeles.
Services were held August 6, 2009 at Phillips Temple CME Church.
