In search of the next local music sensation, Time Warner Cable, music legend Stevie Wonder, KJLH Radio and BET are teaming up to launch the "LA Young Star" contest.

Through the contest, solo singers between the ages of 13-30 will be able to compete and audition for a chance to win a $50,000 promotional music campaign, which will include radio spots and interviews, Internet commercials, a Web site, and a chance to perform on stage and sing alongside Steve Wonder during his annual House Full of Toys Benefit Concert.

"Southern California is where stars come, where dreams are made and where the whole world comes together, and the 'LA Young Star' contest will find the next star," stated Time Warner Cable Senior Vice President of the Western Region Stephan Pagano. "We are very excited to provide our customers with this opportunity to pursue their musical dreams.

The "LA Young Star" contest is taking place now through December 7, 2009, with auditions being held throughout the Los Angeles area. To participate, "LA Young Star" hopefuls should attend any one of the audition locations in the area and sing one of the following five Stevie Wonder hits: "As," "Overjoyed," "Ribbon in the Sky," "You Are the Sunshine of My Life," and "Isn't She Lovely."
