LADWP Holiday Light Festival-December 3-December 30, 2009

It just wouldn’t be the holidays without the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s Holiday Light Festival. You and your family can enjoy this annual tradition that has been delighting visitors for over thirteen years. The festival has become more energy efficient, as it was converted to all energy saving LED lights. Visitors can view over a million lights in festive displays showcasing the uniqueness of the City of Los Angeles. The Holiday Light Festival in Griffith Park is open every evening from December 3rd through December 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This one-mile celebration of twinkling lights and music has become an LA tradition. Visitors will enjoy “vehicle free” walking only nights December 4-17. Bicycles have their own special preview night on December 3rd and from December 18-30 visitors can drive through in their own cars or walk the route. Check the LADWP web site at www.ladwp.com or www.dwplightfestival.com for details on driving and walking schedules. Visitors should remember to wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly if they are walking. Parking is available at the LA Zoo. The Light Festival runs through December 30, 2009, so, don’t miss this once-a-year tradition.
