Practical and Effective Programs For Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Designing the most effective communication, social and play program is critical in helping parents and teachers achieve their goals when working with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder.

A 2-day workshop will be presented by Marlene Driscoll, M.A., LMFT. Driscoll is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in work with families of children with autism. She is currently the Site Director for the Autism Partnership Seal Beach office, providing clinical supervision, counseling, program development and interventionist training and development. 

Ms. Driscoll began working with Drs. Leaf and McEachin in 1992 as a consultant for the Behavior Therapy and Learning Center, a center focusing on parent training for families with developmentally disabled children. She earned her Master's Degree in counseling from Loyola Marymount University in 1996. She has extensive experience in the use of Applied Behavioral Analysis and early intervention with children with autism.  She has consulted with families and school districts throughout the United States and internationally.

The workshop will include: Assessment of curricular and programming needs; Identification of behavioral and skill strengths and deficits;  Development of treatment objectives for programs; Selection of programs to address identified needs (e.g., communication, self- help, leisure/play, social skills and behavioral control, etc.); and Development of treatment objectives for programs.

Clinicians, parents and teachers with sufficient knowledge of autism and ABA concepts

(MCEP  BBS accredited) should attend.

The workshop will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, April 6-7, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Autism Partnership, 200 Marina Drive, Seal Beach.
