"Outsmarting Brain Tumors"
"Outsmarting Brain Tumors," a free conference on brain tumors for patients, families and caregivers" will offer up-to-date information on the most recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of adult brain tumors.
Keith Black, M.D., and other prominent neurosurgeons from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center will be joined by other cancer specialists, nurses, a psychologist, dietitians, and an expert in complementary treatment options.
The conference will be held Saturday, July 10, from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. in The Harvey Morse Auditorium at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Plaza Level, South Tower, 8700 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles. "Outsmarting Brain Tumors" is open to the public. Sponsors include the American Brain Tumor Association, the Florida Brain Tumor Association, the Wellness Community - West Los Angeles, and the Musella Foundation.
Topics include the latest advances in treatment and research, nutrition for cancer patients, alternative treatments for brain tumors, and dealing with the emotional aspects of living with the disease. Topics of two sessions will be selected by people who pre-register and vote for the topics of their choice.
