Clippers forward Blake Griffin continues on his dunking tour. Over the last 10 games he’s averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds, and he should make the All Star game. Photo by Leon Bennett By Tamara LattaSports WriterThe Clippers’ New Year’s resolution was not answered. Knock, knock, knock, will someone please inform them that there are four quarters in a basketball game? Seriously, I thought the Clippers had a funeral for their 2010 2nd half meltdowns -but somehow they were able to arise from the dead and make 2011.The Clippers are a remarkable team and have the talent to compete in the NBA. It’s very unfortunate that they can’t find a way to close teams out in the fourth quarter. On Sunday the Clippers lead the Atlanta Hawks by 16 points but before you could check the scoreboard again, the Hawks were in control with five minutes left in the game.“We just didn't respond the right way," Griffin said. "They were down at the half obviously so they came out and they were ready to play and we didn't match that”.When scouts come to spy on the Clippers, they don’t have much to jot down, other than; they don’t play basketball in the second half. After winning five out of the last seven games, it looked as if the Clippers were finding their identity as a unit. But it turned out to be a false alarm.Despite the fact that the Clippers aren’t a threat right now in the Western Conference, Griffin is having a monster season. Griffin is in beast mode; he has averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds in his last 10 games. It’s hard to figure out if the guy is human.“He’s an animal,” Hawks Forward Josh Smith said. “I think they put some machinery in his knee after his surgery”.The Skinny About a month ago, Clippers owner Donald Sterling made it known that he wasn’t a fan of Baron Davis. With the trade deadline approaching a source says Davis is being shopped around. Recent rumors have suggested that Charlotte is interested in acquiring Davis from the Clippers in exchange for D.J. Augustin, DeSagana Diop and Matt Carroll. With Davis trying to regain his agile back, there is a possibility that he could be a key player on another roster. He’s having a career low in his stats this season, but he’s the type of player that’ll respond to criticism and bounce back. He’s most definitely not the player he was five years ago, but he still has a lot of basketball left in him. Making Noise Clippers Center DeAndre Jordan is exploring his athleticism and length this season. He earned a major role in the line-up after filling in for Chris Kaman. He may not be an offensive threat, but if you give him enough room in the paint, he will take your picture. Jordan has also gained respect on the defensive end. Don’t let him get in your grill or there is a chance that you will get denied. He’s not a young Shaquille O’Neal shot blocker, but he recently scored a career high of seven blocks. On to the Next The Clippers waived Jarron Collins who was a nine-year veteran in the NBA. Collins was signed by the Clippers on Sept. 27th and appeared in only 19 games. He was averaging 0.8 points and 0.7 rebounds.
