Four months after its founding, the Family of Faith Christian Center will officially install the Rev. Dr. Sherman A. Gordon as pastor of the growing congregation.  The service, set for Sunday, March 27 at 3 p.m., will be held at its worship site in the Loker Student Union at CSU – Dominguez Hills, 1000 East Victoria Street in Carson.

“We are having this installation so the community can see that there are bishops, churches, and pastors behind Family of Faith that are not only supportive, but holding me accountable for the leadership I provide,” said Dr. Gordon.

“We invite the community to come and expect a wonderful service.  We’re just excited at what God is going to do on this day.”

The guest speaker will be Bishop Noel Jones, pastor of City of Refuge in Gardena.  Among the other participants are Bishop Johnny Withers, pastor of Unity Christian Fellowship in Compton; Bishop Alfred Owens, pastor of  Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church in Maryland, and Bishop Newton White of the Full Gospel denomination.  In addition, several local pastors are expected to attend.

“Bishop Jones has been a mentor and we have developed a great friendship.  I have preached for him a couple of times. He’s a model of success and I trust and hope that one day God will allow Family of Faith to grow in its ministry to a portion of what Bishop Jones has done with the City of Refuge,” said Dr. Gordon.

Family of Faith holds worship services on Sundays at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.  For information, call Juanita Smith at (310) 288-3511, ext. 2, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
