Lumania Dixon Ganier, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011 in Van Nuys, CA at the age of 86.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 4, 1924, she was the second of six children to Lancelot and Julia Dixon.

Lumania married Edgar Ganier at the age of 24. From this union came one daughter, Nancy.

They moved to Los Angeles in 1962 joining her sisters and brothers where she lived out the rest of her life.

"Lu" never missed a family celebration throughout the years. If she had to take a train, plane, automobile or boat...she was going to be there, dressed up and fresh from the beauty salon. A walk to Mass every morning and a "sip", only from a stemmed crystal glass, kept her in great shape and able to keep up with or out last the best of us.

She leaves behind four Grandchildren, Darren, Anastasia, Peter and Joseph, her sister Theresa, her brother Lance, 19 nieces and nephews and an abundance of relatives and friends.

She was loved by everyone, her love was felt by all who knew her and she will be missed deeply.

Lumania was preceded in death by her parents, Lancelot and Julia. Her husband Edgar (Ganier), her Daughter Nancy, her brother Jules, her sisters Mickey and Mildred and her niece Cheryl.

Services will be held at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, Van Nuys, CA on Saturday March 5 at 1:00p.m.
