Seeking help with their prayer life drew many people to Windsor Hills Christian Bookstore to get the new book, “Pray What God Says,” written by Christine Brooks Martin.

The Bible-based manual, unveiled at the book signing on March 5, helps Christians enhance communion with God and increase peace in daily living by praying according to scripture.

“Letting the scriptures be the foundation of your prayers will allow you to pray more effectively and at same time, develop your relationship with God through His Word.  Scripture has remedies for anything you are going through in your life,” said Martin.

Darlene Lee-Bulgin read an article about “Pray What God Says” and decided she really needed the book. “I was very impressed because it mentioned how you can be prayerful and positive in your workplace. I work with a lot of people who are kind of negative.  I think this will help in my personal life and at work,” she said.

The book contains a catalog of topical scriptures covering Spiritual Growth, Family, Finances, Career, Students, Health and Intercession. Also, sub-topics are listed under each area, for example, the Finances section includes scriptures on Abundance, Blessings, Guidance and Possessing Property.  With the glossary, readers can quickly find the subject and related scriptures.

Martin read excerpts during the book signing and Tawanna Green said, “I think this book is absolutely wonderful.  It teaches people how to connect themselves completely with the Lord and hear from Him and be quiet enough to understand.  Sometimes we need that.  We need a guide to help sometimes and it’s a wonderful guide to aid in our prayer life with God.”

“I think we all have to work on connecting with the Creator.  Sometimes, there are different ways to do it and with this book, you can learn better ways and different strategies to do that,” added David G. Brown, a political cartoonist for the L.A. Sentinel who attended to support Martin, the L.A. Sentinel Production Manager.

Expressing pleasure at the turnout, Martin said, “This is emotionally overwhelming and very encouraging.  Every since I finished the book, I’ve been getting all kinds of favor – favor from organizations, favor from radio interviews, and now on this launching day of the book, and I’m getting favor from Mrs. Webb (Windsor Hills owner).  I’m grateful and happy and I feel the love and support.

“I hope everyone will have happy reading as they experience the manifestation of blessing in every facet of life by declaring the scriptures over your circumstances,” said Martin.
