Rev. Dr. Mary Walton
The Rev. Dr. Mary Walton will discuss ‘Domestic Violence and The Roots of Rage' at the Save Our Sons (SOS) meeting on Sunday, March 20, at 2:30 p.m., at Crenshaw United Methodist Church, 3740 Don Felipe Drive in Los Angeles. Rev. Howard Ashford is the pastor.
An ordained United Methodist minister, Rev. Dr. Walton serves as a senior management advisor to Interval House Centers for Domestic Violence and Creating A Safe Environment (CASE) Interfaith Project. Previously, she served four years as pastor of Dominguez United Methodist Church in Carson and assistant to the pastor at Wesley United Methodist Church in East Long Beach.
Internationally recognized as one of the early pioneers in the domestic violence movement, Rev. Dr. Walton has spent the last 35 years serving as an advisor to several family violence programs and coalition efforts. Currently, she is working to advance the newly-formed Faith-based African American Network for Violence Free Relationships to create a culture of peace in the African American community.
