Urban Economic Forum

In Honor of Black Economic Empowerment Week, the Los Angeles Urban League Young Professionals and the Empowerment Congress Central Area Neighborhood Development Council presents the "Urban Economic Empowerment Forum: A Dialogue to Strengthen Our American Dream." Come hear about federal, state, and local policies that can strengthen black and urban businesses. What we can do to increase investment in Black and urban communities. What individual and collective action we can take to increase our economic power. This forum will be an interactive discussion on what it means to economically empower the urban community.

The forum will be moderated by Dr. Anthony Samad and guest panelists will include: Curren Price (CA State Senator), Kenneth Crawford, Small Business Administration, Edward Barnett (Owner/Operator, Buffalo Wild Wings), Dorothy Randle (Minority Business Outreach Representative-Office of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa) and Lisa Smallwood-Cuevas (LA Black Workers' Center)
The event will be held Thursday, June 16th,  Resource Fair: 6:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Forum begins from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Barack Global Preparatory Academy, 1700 W. 46th St., Los Angeles, CA 90062.
