It made me feel like I truly was somebody. I took this program very seriously, because for the first time I knew what a real man was suppose to look like and I am very grateful to Mr. LeVias for caring enough about us as African American males to invest in us like he did. Even when some of us did not have shirts or ties to began the program, Mr. LeVias bought over a dozen shirts and ties to help us get started, and that even encouraged some of the counselors to also contribute clothing for some us to participate in The Arthur Jay LeVias Presidential Scholarship Program.Mr. Tony Austin was very excited about being the first recipient of the $1000.00 Arthur Jay LeVias Presidential Award, and Mr. LeVias was very pleased that this young man was the recipient. Mr. LeVias stated, "it proves what one can produce if you care enough to give back to your community."
