"Each year we celebrate the rich history of Central Avenue, by bringing some of the greatest talents in blues, jazz, and Latin jazz together for an outstanding summer festival. This year, we are taking this opportunity to remember the life and legacy of a Central Avenue legend, Buddy Collette, who recently passed away. Through song and celebration, we hope to capture his spirit and celebrate his life during this two-day, free music event," said Councilwoman Perry, whose office spearheads efforts to ensure the continuation of this great summer tradition. "I invite the entire community to come celebrate with us."

This year crowds can expect outstanding performances from the LAUSD All-City High School Jazz Band, Ernie Andrews, Dorian Holley, Gerald Wilson Orchestra, Deacon Jones featuring 10-year old guitarist, Ray Goren, and other outstanding artist. Jazz America will perform play a set on Sunday dedicated to Buddy Collette.

The event is made possible in partnership with the Office of Councilwoman Jan Perry, the Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD), the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles (CRA/LA), the Department of Cultural Affairs and KJAZZ.
