Congressional candidate Isadore Hall and Congressman James Clyburn (D-SC)

In viewing Assemblymember Isadore Hall’s website, it beckons his constituents to call if they have a problem.  So it is no wonder that with the state of the state’s financial condition, Hall went to Washington to see what he can do to assist, not only his constituents, but the state at large.

In addition, Assembly-member Hall has announced his candidacy to run for the soon-to-be new congressional district in the Southern Los Angeles area – the district that will result from the state’s redistricting process.  It can be said that Hall also went to Washington as a prelude to being the next congressional representative from the new district.

While there, he met with Congressman James Clyburn to discuss the impact of the national economic crisis on California.  Like many of his colleagues, Hall is deeply concerned with how the budget cuts will impact his constituents who were already experiencing high unemployment, foreclosure, healthcare crises and financial woes, beyond the norm of the state, and indeed the country.

To that end, Hall has said, “I look forward to the continued discussions with our President and our democratic leaders as we frame our national economic recovery agenda.  Jobs, healthcare, education and social security are critical issues that must be protected.”

And Hall in Congress is the one to tackle those problems head on.
