Richard Stewart

Richard Stewart was born December 17, 1917 in Chandler, OK. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1938. Richard enlisted in the army and served over 5 years and is a veteran of WWII. Over time, Richard was promoted to Sergeant and ultimately became the chief of field artillery.

Richard married Myrtle Edwards on July 1, 1944. To this union, three children were born. In 1949, the family moved to Los Angeles where they became members of the Trinity Baptist Church on Jefferson Avenue. He transferred his membership to Westminster Presbyterian Church where he was a member for many years. Richard was elected and actively served nine years on Westminster's Trustee Board and was ultimately awarded Trustee Emeritus.

In 2004, the family relocated to Chula Vista, CA. On August 8, 2011, Richard left this earth to be with the Lord. He leaves to celebrate his life his beloved wife of 67 years Myrtle, and three children Gloria, Wilton, and Marquetta.

Funeral Service will be held August 27, 10 a.m., Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2230 West Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90018.
