New Dawn Christian Village (NDCV), located at 2328 St. James Place in Los Angeles, will celebrate its 7th Church Anniversary with the Founder's Celebration Weekend, on Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18.

The anniversary theme is, ‘Keep On Truckin.' The Celebration Weekend includes a Family Reunion Picnic and Cook Off on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Elysian Park, 835 Academy Road in Los Angeles.

A special celebratory worship will be held on Sunday, at 11:30 a.m., featuring Rev. DeForest (Buster) Soaries, pastor of the 3000-member First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, New Jersey. Rev. Soaries is the former New Jersey Secretary of State and the first African American male to serve as a constitutional officer in New Jersey. He is renowned as a dynamic man of God who emphasizes spiritual growth, educational excellence and economic empowerment.

New Dawn was founded in 2004 under the leadership of Pastor Frank E. Wilson and over the years, hundreds of members have united with the fellowship. In addition, NDCV has organized a dynamic church school, well-attended small group Bible studies, Children and Youth Ministries, LIFT Worship Team, SWAT/SSLK Women's Ministry (the vision of Lady P. Bunny Wilson), Men's Ministry, and Christmas, Skid Row and Back-To-School outreach ministries.

Also, Pastor Wilson has ordained deacons and deaconesses as well as added an Executive Pastor, a Pastor of Evangelism and Youth Pastor. New Dawn's motto is ‘The Living Word Lifting Lives.'
