(Part 2 of a two-part series)

Those who are hurting depressed, or seeking growth in Christ can find comfort at Blessed Ministries, an ecumenical ministry offering Biblical principles, prayer, intercession, healing and deliverance to the Body of Christ.

Apostle Charlezetta Nixon received the vision of the ministry nine years ago and since that time, it has grown to three states, uplifting and changing lives of people in California, Colorado and Washington.

"Blessed Ministries is a ministry of excellence, a ministry of integrity, a ministry of prayer and a ministry of the ‘new breed' that God is raising up for this hour," said Apostle Nixon, who also serves as an Evangelist in the African Methodist Episcopal Church as well as first lady of Ward A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles under the leadership of Pastor Joseph C. Nixon.

"Our mission is to bridge the gap between denominations and carry out an end time ministry through prayer, intercession, healing and deliverance. We are not a church; but, it is our goal to fulfill Ephesians 4:12-13 by working alongside of the church in equipping people for the works of service and assist in maturing the Body of Christ," she said. All activities are open to men, women, young adults and youth, regardless of religious affiliation or ethnicity.

Coming up on October 8, Apostle Nixon and Blessed Ministries will present a free play entitled ‘Issues,' at 2 p.m., at Ward A.M.E. Church, 1177 West 25th Street in Los Angeles. The play, written by Evangelist Patricia Rice and directed by Elder Herbert Rice, features cast members from local churches.

Elder Herbert Rice is an accomplished actor who had the opportunity to perform in three Broadway plays and a variety of Off-Broadway plays in New York. He has been cast in several motion pictures including the classic, ‘Apocalypse Now' and he has done writing for ‘Saturday Night Live' and performed in several of their shows.

He and Evangelist Patricia are members of Greater Open Door COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Garon Harden. The Praise Warriors and Bridget Bozeman of Ward A.M.E. will also minister in music.

"This production allows a release for the viewers as they witness the powerful struggles from crisis to Christ. The emotional journey of each woman portrayed is an exposé on the attacks the enemy uses to stifle women. But, I believe the Lord is preparing the Body of Christ for His return and He wants all to be saved," said Apostle Nixon.

As for ongoing programs, Blessed Ministries provides a 24-hour Prayer Line that can be accessed at 888-364-8014.

"Additionally, we offer seminars, workshops and conferences on several topics including, but not limited to, How to Heal the Sick, How to Establish a Healing Place in your Church or Community, How to Build a Deliverance Team, Intercessory Prayer, Healing and Deliverance Bible Study, Armor bearer Training, and Altar Worker Training. We serve as a prayer covering for churches, ministries, businesses, missionaries, psalmists, praise and worship dance teams and global market place visionaries of the Lord," said Apostle Nixon.

"In May of this year, two additional ministries were implemented within Blessed Ministries. Our Community Bible Study Class is held every Tuesday at 7 p.m., at Ward A.M.E. Church. Our Bible Studies are not designed as a replacement for the local church Bible Study, but as an additional spiritual tool to assist the Body of Christ in their growth. Our first 12-week class focused on ‘The 7 Star House of Prayer' and we are presently teaching ‘Fasting and Prayer - A Lifestyle.' Both training manuals were written by Bishop Jackie Green."

R.A.W. Freedom Ministry was also formed to aid the needs of ministers of the Gospel. "R.A.W. is an acronym for Rejection, Abortion (of your call), and Woundedness. Ministers, both men and women, minister to others while they themselves are raw on the inside. The layers of hurt and wounds build up without release, so many become wounded healers.

"R.A.W. Freedom Ministry was birthed to enable ministers, that is, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, ministry team leaders, and their children, to be ministered to in an environment of their peers so transformation and renewal can be released," said Apostle Nixon.

"Participation in Blessed Ministries is open to all, however, members must also seek approval from their Pastor to become a part; be under the covering of a church; a tither in their local church and believe in our 19 faith statements," she added.
