X-men Days of Future Past is sure to leave many eXuberant as the film successfully weaves together two film casts (the X-men Trilogy & X-men: First Class) in an attempt to change the future.

In this latest installment, Storm (Halle Berry), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page), Colossus (Daniel Cudmore) and others, find themselves in a bleak future where mutants are hunted and exterminated by giant robots called Sentinels. Mutant and humankind’s only hope lies in changing events in the past for a better future. A grey-haired Wolverine returns to the turbulent 70’s to work together with a hippie Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), a geeky Hank McCoy/ Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and an imprisoned Magneto (Michael Fassbender) to stop a determined Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) from setting off a chain of events that lead to a horrific future.

X-men Days of Future Past is based on a very popular story written by Chris Claremont. The story isn’t literally translated from the comic but uses the same concept and ideas within the established X-film universe. It all comes together to tell an exciting story X-fans and moviegoers alike will enjoy thoroughly. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, as an older Prof. X and Magneto are like peanut butter and jelly—simply classic. McAvoy and Fassbender cement themselves as the new and younger faces of Prof. X and Magneto moving forward. Lawrence allows for a deeper side of Mystique to come shining through while being a flexible, bad-ass and Jackman is Wolverine—period.

X-men Days of Future Past is a must see and holds a lot of shock value for those who are willing to wait until after the credits. Do yourself a favor and wait.
