An uplifting Men and Women's Day celebration is set for Sunday, March 2, at 2:30 p.m., at Ward A.M.E. Church, 1177 West 25th Street in Los Angeles.
According to Pastor Taurus Myhand, the theme of the worship is ‘Men and Women Working Together In Christ.’
“We invite the public to attend and receive the blessing of strong preaching, soul stirring music by two choirs, powerful liturgical dancing, and warm fellowship,” said Pastor Myhand.
The guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. James A. Rumph, pastor of Grant A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles. He was appointed to Grant in October 2013, by Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, Sr., presiding prelate of the Fifth Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Church.
Dr. Rumph, who has more than 31 years in parish ministry, most recently served as pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. Church.
His career also includes teaching at the college level, conducting seminars, and presenting workshops for religious and community-based groups as a lecturer and consultant. In addition, he has held several positions on religious and civic boards and organizations.
A graduate of the University of Alabama, Dr. Rumph earned his Master of Divinity degree from Turner Theological Seminary and Doctor of Ministry degree from Beeson School of Divinity.
