Mother’s Day is almost here and the Sentinel has taken the liberty of helping you plan it right. Here’s a list of a few of our favorite places to take Mommy Dearest in the morning, noon, and night.
Morning: Best Brunch in LA
1. Post & Beam
We visited Post & Beam this weekend and enjoyed a few savory treats. The Stuffed French Toast with Hazelnut Nutella and Strawberries along with the Shrimp Grits & Scrambled Eggs with Bacon and Roast Peppers, are both to die for. Their brunch cocktail menu is also delicious. We recommend the Peach Bellini. The restaurant is Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza adjacent located on 3667 Santa Rosalie Dr. Los Angeles, CA 90008
2. Kirk Franklins Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues- 8430 Sunset Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
1. Melrose Trading Post-
Take mom somewhere unconventional and fun. We visited the Melrose Trading Post this weekend on the corner of Melrose and Fairfax Avenue and highly recommend it. Enjoy personal massages, unique jewelry and clothing, live music, food, and much more.
2. Joe Turner’s Come and Gone-
This amazing production is now playing at the Ahmanson Theatre in the heart of downtown Los Angeles at 601 W Temple St, Los Angeles, CA 90012. There will be a show on Mother’s Day at 1:00 pm and 6:30 pm
Evening- Food Finds
1. McCormick & Schmick’s (Happy Hour)
They offer one of the best Happy Hours in Los Angeles, with an extensive menu of inexpensive drinks and appetizers. They are located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles at 633 W 5th St Los Angeles, CA 90071
2. Sweet Red Peach- (Cupcakes for Mom)
Preorder and pick up your cupcakes the day before Mother’s Day and enjoy and evening of scrumptious desserts together. Sweet Red Peach is located on 1035 South Prairie Inglewood, CA 90301. We recommend both the Oreo and the 7-Up cupcake.
