Minister Tony Muhammad and Big Boy Join Caravan of Peace from Watts to Carson  

Over 500 motorcycles and low rider cars participated in the 5th Peace Ride from Watts to Carson on Sun., Feb. 17.  The goal of the event was to increase the peace in South Los Angeles communities affected by gang and gun violence. The event started in Watts at Magic Johnson Park and concluded with a celebration at Carson’s Hemingway Park featuring Grammy® award winning bassist Stanley Clarke.  Among those that participated were Power 106 FM’s Big Boy and Minister Tony Muhammad of the Nation of Islam.  The event was produced by the annual United in Peace Festival (UPFest), and sponsored in part by the World Literacy Crusade.  For more information, please visit or call (323) 537-2273.  This was the fifth Peace Ride urging peace in the streets.  Others have been held in Compton, Inglewood, Baldwin Village, and South L.A.
