Mrs. Muriel Estell
Mrs. Muriel Elizabeth Warren Estell passed away peacefully last month surrounded by family and friends. A native of Los Angeles, she left a positive impact on countless people during her 86 years of living.
Muriel was born on February 15, 1925, to James B. Warren and Mary Buchanan Warren. Educated in the local school system, she attended Foshay Junior High School and graduated from Dorsey High School.
Following graduation, she worked as an office manager for the Los Angeles Unified School District where she established many long-standing friendships.
On September 13, 1942, she married Lovell Estell, Jr., whom she met while the two were attending Foshay. To their union were born five children.
Muriel and Lovell were longtime members of the Ball and Chain social club, where she established a circle of friends that, literally, lasted a lifetime.
Also, Muriel valued education and instilled a love of learning in her children. She and her husband worked hard to ensure that all of their offspring graduated from college.
Muriel was a woman of many talents. She loved to read books and always kept her home welcoming to visitors. She also loved to travel and visited Europe, Canada and the Caribbean.
She was quite a seamstress, and loved elephants as well, ultimately accumulating a large and impressive collection. The theatre was another favorite of Muriel's and she enjoyed going to see plays.
Muriel's husband and her brother, Joseph Farmer, preceded her passing.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Marita, Angela, Suellen, Lovell III and Patricia; grandchildren, Tish, Lovell IV, Jennifer, and Marguerite; grandson-in-law, John; great grandchildren, Alison, Paige, Todd, Jayden and Suellen Elizabeth; and her extended family including Gracia, Wayne, Rollen, Stacey, Brandie, and many friends.
