The Southern California Ministerial Alliance commemorates the life, vision and dream of Dr. King on Sunday, January 20 at 4 p.m., at Lewis Metropolitan C.M.E Church, 4900 South Western Avenue in Los Angeles.
The guest preacher will be Bishop James B. Walker, presiding prelate of the C.M.E. Ninth Region. Other participants are Presiding Elder John D. Johnson of the LA/San Diego District and Presiding Elder Joseph C. Gardner, Sr., of the Los Angeles District. The Rev. Wendell M. Oldham is the host pastor.
Breakfast and Mass
The African American Catholic Center for Evangelization holds its Annual Breakfast on Monday, January 21 at 8 a.m., at St. Mary’s Academy, 701 Grace Avenue in Inglewood.
Dr. C. Vanessa White, professor of spirituality at Catholic Theological Union, is the guest speaker. Also, Thea Bowman Academy students and the AACCFE Mass Choir will perform. The donation is $25.
At 5 p.m., the Knights of Peter Claver and the Ladies Auxiliary will host the MLK Mass at Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral, 555 Temple Street in Los Angeles. The KPC Gospel Choir will sing and Bishop Clark will speak. For information, call (323) 777-2106.

The Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship, UCC, presents vocalist Lura Daniels-Ball in a musical journey highlighting Dr. King’s life on Sunday, January 27 at 3:30 pm, at 2085 South Hobart Boulevard in Los Angeles. The Rev. James K. McKnight is the pastor.
