The last time the Los Angeles Matadors fought at home, they won all five fights against the Bangkok Elephants. This past Sunday the Matadors were back at home in Hollywood after they took a trip to Kazakhstan, which borders Russia and China. They hosted the Milano Thunder, a World Series of boxing team from Italy, this past Sunday night at the Avalon. In front of a packed house, Olympian Rau’Shee “Baby Pit” Warren, who will be appearing in his third Olympics this summer in London, kicked off the action. Warren, who fights in the bantamweight division, will become the only boxer ever to perform in three Olympics. He will be turning professional right afterwards. Also on the card was Terrell “Give’em Hell” Gausha. The middleweight fighter put on a great show by picking his spots against his opponent. He knew when to be aggressive, and when to play defense. “I can bang, I can box, I can do a little bit of both,” Gausha said. “I know when it’s time to box, and I know when it’s time to jump on a fighter. I’m really aggressive, when I see a sign of a fighter breaking down, I’m on top of him.”When Gausha was aggressive, he was dropping bombs on his Italian opponent. He is looking to qualify for the Olympic team next month and then turn professional afterwards. Catch these two fighters and the rest of the Matadors roster taking on the Italian team this Sunday night at 8 p.m. on Fox Sports West. All five fights will be televised. The Matadors will fly to Russia next weekend, and they will be back at the Avalon in Hollywood to take on the Mumbai Fighters, who fights out of India, on Monday, February 13, at 7 p.m. For ticket information, visit their website at www.lamatadors.com.Read more about the Matadors here at the Sentinel. http://www.lasentinel.net/L.A.-Matadors-slug-it-out-against-Bangkok-in-Hollywood.html
