The spirit of Christmas was alive and well at the Annual Christmas Concert held at the Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship on December 14.
Presented by the Sanctuary Choir directed by Mr. Ashley Faatoalia, the concert featured some of the finest vocalists and musicians in the area. This year's theme, ‘O, Come Let Us Adore Him,’ set a tone of praise and adoration that prevailed throughout the evening.
Artists Lura Daniels Ball, Amber Mercomes, Danielle Cobb and Stephanie Williams offered songs from a wide range of genres including jazz, gospel, pop and classical. Pastor James K. McKnight spoke words of inspiration and prayed for those suffering from the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
In light of the day's events, MAXJAZZ recording artist, John Proulx, and tenor Faatoalia, offered a Celtic Blessing composed by the Grammy award winning Proulx. Randall Lindsey, age 12, performed a moving rendition of ‘Who Would Imagine a King.’ Sopranos Angel Blue and Ms. Mercomes sang classical selections eliciting standing ovations.
The evening ended with ‘Joy to The World’ followed by refreshments by HLS Creative Catering N More.
