There is no other time to celebrate with family than bringing in a new year…This is time of reflection.

This is the time of year when we all come together to spend time, laugh and reflect on the year. It’s the perfect time to throw a party and invite friends and family over as we close out this year.
Probably one of the easiest parties to plan for, nothing can be more fun than a Christmas party. My family and I threw our first, family party last year and it was great. It takes little prep time, and holiday decorations provide a festive atmosphere,
We kept the menu very simple and festive. Our menu consisted of part store-bought sides and hors d’oeuvre, pizza delivery, and homemade side dishes. It was a quick and easy set up with something for everybody.
For entertainment, board games were available and provided an atmosphere where everyone could participate and have fun. Everyone played a variety of games, from old-fashioned folk family favorites to classics like Sorry and Uno.
At the end of the day, there was bonding and closer relationships with friends and family, both new and old.
New Year’s Celebration
There is no other time to celebrate with family than bringing in a new year. This is a time of reflection, both good and bad, and giving thanks and praise for seeing a new year. A New Year’s party can range from festive to intimate.
My family always comes together on New Year’s Eve. Some of us go to church for special New Year’s services while some of stay home and watch the specials on television. One thing we always have is a New Year’s special meal consisting of black-eyed peas and rice, candied yams, collard greens and fried chicken.
On New Year’s Day we continue the tradition of a family outing to the movies followed by dinner at a restaurant.
The important factor about a New Year’s celebration is family. I think one of the best ways to close out or open up a new year, is do it with your family.
So these are just some ways you can celebrate the holiday season. I hope you’ll be inspired to do something with your family this season. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!!
