Hays CME Church Hosts Good Friday Services

Two services commemorating Good Friday will be held Friday, April 22, at Hays Tabernacle C.M.E. Church, 10121 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles. Bishop James B. Walker is presiding prelate of the C.M.E. Ninth Episcopal District and Rev. Joseph C. Gardner Sr. is host pastor.

At 9 a.m., the Los Angeles District and Los Angeles/San Diego District Missionaries will hold a special ‘Seven Last Words’ worship. Mrs. Billie Jackson is L.A. District president, Ms. Danette Armstead is L.A./San Diego District president, and Mrs. Shirley Levengston is host president.

At 12 noon, the C.M.E. Southern California Ministerial Alliance will present the ‘Seven Last Words of Christ.’ Bishop Walker will speak along with Rev. U.L. Butts, Rev. Gwen Rector, Rev. Terry Tapley, Rev. Marshall Sharp, Rev. Eric Carpenter, and Pastor Mark Whitlock of Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church.

The public is invited to attend both services.
