Hamilton UMC Marks 109 Years

Attorney Michael Lawson

Rejoicing and praise flow throughout the congregation of Hamilton United Methodist Church as they prepare to salute their 109th Anniversary.

According to Pastor Louis A. Chase OSL, festivities begin on Sunday, October 21 at 11 a.m., with a special message by Attorney Michael Lawson followed by a luncheon in the church’s Social Hall. 

Attorney Lawson, a Hamilton member, currently serves as president of the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners, chairman of the LA Community Redevelopment Agency Oversight Board and trustee on the California State Teachers Retirement System.

A retired partner in a New York law firm, he is also a member of the National Finance Committee for Obama For America as well as a trustee for Morehouse College and Loyola Marymount University.

The celebration continues at 3 p.m. with a concert by The Famous Ward Singers under the direction of Anthony Lawson, also a member of Hamilton. Sheila Shirley and Kim Foley will also appear.
