Rev. Sharolyn Gailliard
The Rev. Sharolyn Gailliard will be the guest preacher at the Back to School Celebration on Sunday, August 28, at 9 a.m., at Rose of Sharon A.M.E. Church, announced Rev. Carolyn Baskin-Bell, pastor and founder.
“Everyone is invited to this blessed event. The celebration will take place at the Saints of Value Center located at 12110 Firestone Boulevard in Norwalk and Rev. Gailliard will deliver an uplifting, Christ-centered message,” said Rev. Baskin-Bell.
A native of Southern California, Rev. Gailliard is an associate minister at Turner A.M.E. Church in Hyattsville, MD, under the leadership of Pastor William Lamar IV. She received her master’s degree from Howard Divinity School in 2010 and currently resides in Washington, D. C.
Following the service, the Women’s Missionary Society led by President Helen Ford will provide free school supplies for students of all ages, said Rev. Baskin-Bell. “Even though some of our students at every level have already returned to school, we dedicate this Sunday as a time to encourage everyone involved in the educational arena. During these tough economic times, we will continuously offer prayer and support to all administrators, teachers, parents and students.
“We feel the urgency for the home, school and church to partner together in order that all involved continue to push forward toward educational aspirations,” she added.
