Pastor Solomon and First Lady Isabelle Drake

Three decades of accomplished ministry underscore the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Solomon and First Lady Isabelle Drake, spiritual leaders of Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.

In recognition of their dedicated service, the congregation and religious community will celebrate the Drakes’ stewardship on Sunday, September 23, at 8 a.m., 10:45 a.m., and 4 p.m., during services held in the church’s sanctuary located at 5300 South Denker Avenue in Los Angeles.

The theme of the celebration is ‘Our Pastor, Approved by God Laboring in the Work of the Lord.’  The reference scriptures are  I Thessalonians 2:4 and I Timothy 5:17.

“You are invited to come out and celebrate with us as we acknowledge our First Family in unity to express our love and appreciation for their commitment to Christ and His church.  They have truly been an inspiration and godly example of the ‘Good Shepherd’ feeding and watching out for the flock,” said Deacon Paul R. Smith, event co-chair.

Also co-chairing the 30th Anniversary Appreciation Services are Deaconess Cynthia Smith and Sister Nicole Swift. Sister Hazel Shelton, a centenarian, is the honorary co-chair.

The 8 a.m. and mid-morning worship will feature theme speakers along with tributes to the pastoral family.  The Rev. Clifford Johnson, Minister in Charge, and New Hope Baptist Church will be the guests at 4 p.m.

For more information, call the church office at (323) 759-4996.
