CONGRESSWOMAN LAURA RICHARDSON HONORS

LOS ANGELES – Congresswoman Laura Richardson presents Western Baptist Minister President Dr. J. Benjamin Hardwick with a special recognition gift at the 2012 Western Baptist State Convention held in Los Angeles at Good Shepard Baptist Church on Friday, Aug. 9.

Congresswoman Richardson currently represents 58% percent of the newly created 44th Congressional District, making her the natural incumbent.

First elected to Congress in 2007, Congresswoman Richardson became the first person in United States history to serve at the local, state, and federal level in the span of less than one year.

Rep. Richardson is a member of International Association of Machinists, giving her the distinction being the first Machinist elected to Congress.

The 44th Congressional District includes the cities of Carson, Compton, South Gate, Lynwood, and the communities of Watts, Wilmington, San Pedro, northern Long Beach, and Walnut Park.
