CME Annual Conference Opens at Phillips Temple

The Southern California Region Annual Conference of the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church will be held Wednesday, August 6, through Saturday, August 9, at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, 971 East 43rd Street in Los Angeles. 

Recently appointed presiding prelate, Bishop Bobby R. Best, will oversee the confab. The Rev. Bernard M. Jackson is the host pastor and the host presiding elders are the Rev. John Deron Johnson of the Los Angeles-San Diego District and the Rev. Julio Andujo of the Los Angeles District. 

The C.M.E. Church Southern California Region invites the public to attend this year’s conference.  Dynamic and spirit-filled praise and worship services are expected.  

Conference highlights include the Holy Communion Worship Service, Women’s Missionary services, and the Lay and Ministry to Men special services and recognition.  Also, Christian Education, Children, Youth, and Young Adult services and the Commissioning Service with the reading of appointments will take place. 

In addition, the C.M.E. Choir will sing and the Annual Conference Ushers will serve throughout the week.
