Centers of Learning School to host L.A.P.D. Internet Safety for Children Presentation
Centers of Learning School is hosting the Los Angeles Police Department’s (L.A.P.D.) Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to give a special presentation about Internet Safety for Children and educate parents about how to protect children from unwanted interactions on the Internet such as:
- Unsolicited dirty talk
- Pornographic images
- Virtual friendships that materialize into real-life predators
This presentation is a must for parents with children who are actively using the Internet, or who will soon be using the Internet. The event will be held Saturday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Centers of Learning School, 8854 Haskell Avenue, North Hills, CA 91343.
While there are millions of perfectly safe children’s sites on the net, children can unexpectedly come across material of a sexual or violent nature, rude language, sites that do not relate to the topic they are looking for, or receive inappropriate images or messages from strangers. This presentation is designed to give parents the knowledge they need to help protect their children from, and educate them about, potential dangers they may encounter while using the Internet.
Space is limited. For directions, more details and to secure attendance, please RSVP online at http://www.centersoflearning.com/lapd.htm or call (818) 894-3213. Those who RSVP are eligible to win a family 4-pack visit to Disneyland (and must be present at the event).
