Sabriya’s Castle of Fun Foundation in partnership with The LA Sentinel and the Bakewell Company is hosting a blood drive on Saturday, March 15th from 10 – 3pm in front of the LA Sentinel Office at 3800 S. Crenshaw Blvd., LA, CA 90008 to increase the supply of blood donated by people of color for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Sabriya’s Castle of Fun Foundation was named in honor of Danny Bakewell’s daughter, Sabriya Bakewell, who passed away of leukemia at the age of 17. March 13th would have been Sabriya’s birthday. This blood drive is in honor of her and stands as a celebration of Sabriya’s life and all children we’ve lost due to cancer and other chronic blood diseases.
Support by putting out the word to your friends and family to donate blood. There is a serious shortage of blood for children of color, so join the effort to help our children.
