C.O.G.I.C. prepares for 60th annual Womenâ€™s International Convention

The Church of God in Christ is preparing for thousands to descend upon Los Angeles for the 60th Women’s International Convention/ Crusade May 31st thru Friday June 4.
The Women’s International Convention began 59 years ago in Los Angeles, California with a 100 woman in attendance. The convention is held annually in various cities across North America and now has more than 15,000 people in attendance. Delegates from all around the world will journey to Los Angeles to participate in this years 60th Celebration.
The convention is designed to promote women’s ministry through evangelism by retaining values and principles of holiness. The convention will aim to recapture their predecessors who’s focus was:
-Teach women to love their husbands, nature and train their children.
-Develop godly character.
-Give qualifications and practical applications for leaders.
-Encourage women to be mentors in their homes on their job, and in the community.
-Prepare future leaders.
The convention will be led by president and sixth general Supervisor of the Department of Women, mother Willie Mae Rivers who resides in Goose Creek, South Carolina and Bishop Charles. E. Blake, Sr., presiding bishop.
The weeklong convention will hold workshops, concerts, a prayer breakfast, youth services and evening worship services. The convention will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. For more information call 323 778-7965 ext. 7.
