Dr. C. Dennis and Lady Yvette Williams

Outstanding dedication to both members and community inspired the congregation of Brookins Community A.M.E. Church to honor Pastor C. Dennis and Lady Yvette Williams with three events to express their thanks.

The Appreciation Services start Friday, October 12, and continue on Sunday, October 14, at 4831 South Gramercy Place in Los Angeles.

“We are extremely blessed at Brookins to have the dynamic team of Pastor and Lady Williams as our spiritual leaders.  They are both committed, godly and focused on God and kingdom-building,” said Dorothea Young, event chair.

“This is an exciting occasion in the life of our church and we invite everyone in the greater Los Angeles area to join us as we honor our First Family.”

On October 12, at 6 p.m., the First Lady Friday High Tea will recognize Mrs. Williams for her contributions as well as offer fellowship and light refreshments to attendees.  At 7 p.m., Mrs. Solombra Ingram, First Lady Emeritus of Maranatha Community Church, will share an inspirational message.

Sunday’s worship service at 9 a.m., will feature preaching by Presiding Elder Roosevelt Lindsey of the Los Angeles-San Diego-Las Vegas District of the A.M.E. Church. A reception takes place at 1 p.m., followed by the closing celebration at 3 p.m. Pastor Melvin V. Wade of Mount Moriah Baptist Church will be the keynote speaker.

In addition to Young, the Appreciation Committee includes Co-Chair Corella Stone, Dorothy Cobb, Cora Fossett, Ollie Lawrence, Charlotte Lombard-Roberts, Betty Madison, Cynthia Mayes, David Moss, Lillie Pruitt, Greg Robinson and Mishelle Thompson.
