Bishop T. Larry Kirkland Sr. will be the guest preacher on Sunday, March 27, at the 8 a.m. worship service at Bryant Temple A.M.E. Church, located at 2525 W. Vernon Avenue in Los Angeles, announced Rev. Dr. Clyde W. Oden Jr., pastor.

“The greater Los Angeles community is welcome to join us and hear the dynamic preaching of Bishop Kirkland. I am confident his Christ-centered, life-application messages will help you overcome challenges you may face in your daily living,” said Pastor Oden.

Bishop Kirkland is the presiding prelate of the 5th Episcopal District and president of the General Board of the A.M.E. Church. During his ministry of 40+ years, he is often called upon by the media for his expertise in religious matters and his counsel is frequently sought by local and national leaders.

For 20 years, he was pastor of Brookins Community A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles where the congregation grew from 12 to 8,000 members and became highly regarded for its socio-political presence in the greater L.A. area. Also, he is the author of several books on church growth.

A graduate of Alcorn State University, he received his master’s degree from Mississippi State University and attended Claremont School of Theology and California Graduate School of Theology.
