Taylor Alford has a bright future ahead of him. The 17-year-old recently graduated from Frederick K.C. Price high school and will be attending UCLA with a full scholarship in the fall.  Taylor plans to major in business with a minor in music. He credits his success towards his counselor, Madelyn Butler who helped him with scholarships and financial aid. While having a relaxing summer, the multitalented artist (he is a singer, songwriter and beat maker) said he is staying busy by applying for internships. He is also producing while waiting for college to begin this September, he said. “I am growing as an artist,” Taylor declared, describing his musical style as a mixture of hip-hop, pop and jazz. And, he explained, his plan to study business and music in college will lay the foundations to his music career.  “[An education] will help me better myself personally and musically as well,” he said. “I plan on being a successful producer.” Speaking of foundations, Taylor’s work ethic is impressive. From a young age he knew it would always take hard work to be successful. He started working at a barbershop in the 8th grade, which was also when he begun making music.Taylor’s passion for music is a fixture in the social network scene. He has a Twitter, Instagram and SoundCloud account where he promotes his music. When asked who he follows in the R&B and hip hop industry, he responded with the likes of Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Pharelle and Ryan Leslie. With so much going on, it is a wonder to how he maintains it all. He is a strong minded young man who is not prone to being pressured into negative situations.  “I don’t put myself in bad situations to get caught up in,” said Taylor. “I surround myself with people who have the same goals as me.” His achievements are influenced by his family who supports education. He intends on giving back to the community by reaching out to people like himself. “I want to give them resources so that they can become producers and rappers,” he said.It sounds like he has it all set.
